Dream big!
Follow your heart. Keep hope alive. You will become successful and accomplish everything you set out to achieve. Have faith.
You hear these sayings and statements all the time. They’re supposed to motivate you to keep going. These sayings help you believe in yourself while you’re paving the road to success to make your dreams reality.
However, when you keep pushing and moving in the right direction and things aren’t going as planned or you aren’t seeing the results of the work you put in, it can become discouraging.
You start to feel defeated. You want to curse out these sayings and start to believe that dreams are just fairy tales told to adults.
Negativity peaks its ugly little head from around the corner. You find comfort in that. You start to sabotage your dreams and find comfort in that as well.
Deep down you know this isn’t what you want out of life. You want to become motivated again and fight the negative, self-destructing feelings.
But, how?
Hopefully the following 7 tips will help to stop you from sabotaging your dreams.
1. Get Off The Couch
First Step. Get off the couch. Nothing will ever get accomplished with you sitting there watching hours after hours of Netflix and re-runs of your favorite sitcom.
Do you know any successful couch potatoes?
They hand out awards for being on TV but, not for watching TV. Limit the tube time. Cut it off and go get things done.
Get at it. Stop laughing (or crying) and eating up all the potato chips.
2. Stop Day Dreaming And Start Doing
Stop with the excessive day dreams. Do you ever have this problem?
Listening to background music sometimes helps to keep you focused on the task at hand. Another good trick—change your position to another room. Try sitting at the kitchen table instead of cozily working in your bedroom.
Completely leaving the house helps too. Go to a café, book store or the library.
The crowd of people concentrating at the library may help you to quit it with the day dreaming and concentrate on your work as well.
3. Get Your Desk and Papers Organized
This tip helps so much. Once you get rid of all that clutter and get the papers you work with in order it changes everything.
You don’t even realize just how unorganized you are until you become organized.
Having an organized desk saves so much time. Time you can use on working on your goals.
4. Believe In You
There is no greater way to sabotage your dreams than to not believe in yourself.
What is blocking you from not believing you got what it takes? You know you can do this but, something in your mind is blocking you.
Dig deep.
Is it just fear of the unknown or something deeper? Are you hearing your own voice or has someone told you you can’t and you believed them?
This simply isn’t true. You. Can. Accomplish. Anything.
Put your mind to it and it’s yours. Don’t allow other people’s voices to cloud your judgement of you anymore. Even if those voices are good intentions from your loved ones. They may only be trying to protect you or think they know what’s best.
Listen to your inner self. A dream deferred is one of the worse positions to be in.
You don’t want to continue feeling that burning desire in your soul that screams for more out of life.
You and only you know what’s truly meant for you. Go after it with all your might. It is possible!
5. Stop Allowing Fear To Paralyze You
Fear can paralyze you and sabotage your dreams. You get stuck in one spot and refuse to move.
Then, your mind creates all of these different scenarios that aren’t even true.
What if I fail? What is they laugh at me? What if I succeed and end up all alone? What if I lose everything? What if I make too much money? What if I don’t make enough money? How will I handle the extra work. The rejection? The business meetings? The fame?
STOP! All of this is simply in your head. Stories you are telling yourself.
Reality is created as we create. Stepping stones are set forth when you are moving in the direction of your dreams. Life works out when you put in the work of following your heart.
There are obstacles along the way. However, as long as you’re consistent your goals will be met and the fears get smaller and smaller.
Just keep doing you. Keep moving. Keep believing.
6. Be Productive Not Busy
Busy work can easily be confused with being productive.
When you have something to show at the end of the day that accounts for being productive. Making a list and checking it off let’s you know you are productive instead of busy. Before performing a task ask yourself if I do this what will be the outcome—the result?
For example, checking an email and going through mail is busy work. Executing a marketing campaign or writing three articles for your blog is productive work.
7. Keep Your Promises To Yourself
Whenever you break a promise you are prolonging your goals, wasting time and lying to yourself.
When you tell someone you will do something you usually try not to disappoint that person. You do what you’ve promised.
Have the same respect for yourself. You know you are important so, start treating yourself better. Don’t end up looking back on your life 10 years from now feeling bad because you weren’t good to yourself and it shows in your life.
Think of the health, wealth and success you could have achieved if you only kept the promises you made to follow your heart and make your dreams come true.
So, keep those daily promises you make. Remember, you are important to yourself and those in your life.
Last Thoughts……
It makes me really sad to think you may be sabotaging your dreams. Don’t you want the best for yourself and your family?
This road to success is hard. But, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Because, the alternative doesn’t put a fire in my soul. I‘d whether truck through all the fears, obstacles and struggles to achieve my heart’s desire verses living with regret and wondering what if, years from now.
I want the same for you. Go after your dreams. Shine and live life like no one else. If you can relate to any of the above tips please stop sabotaging your goals.
Let’s conquer our fears and manifest dreams into reality.

The couch and netflix are my worst enemies. I got this great book Called Your Dream Life Starts Here and it’s a combo of reading and workbook to help you identify what your dream life even consists of. It’s real neat https://amzn.to/2Un7YEQ

Really insightful tips. Dreams can only become reality if we put the effort in and face our fears. We need to have the dream clear in our head and our heart and then act upon it so that it can be fulfilled.

Great Post!! I totally agree with you, these are great suggestions. We are often our own worst enemy, getting started is the best motivator. Things just roll from there.
